I'm back. And what a day I had! I am not giving away whether I made it to the next round or not until the end of my rant, even if some of you already know due to my constant ranting all over facebook lol
So I set my alarm at 1:15 AM, problem is...I didn't fall asleep until 11 pm, due to nerves. WEll, I didn't wake up until 3:30 am! I was supposed to leave a 3 am!
So I leave around 4, get to the IZOD center just after 5 am. And then came the traffic...oh god, the traffic. We were barely moving, and it took almost an hour to even get parking from the point of the exit off the turnpike.
We get to the building, to find out, sit and relax, we're not moving for a few hours.
Problem is...I was wearing a PENCIL SKIRT!!!!! Not too comfy to sit in for two hours
Around 7:15 am, we are moved inside, where we go to take our seats. After about an hour of everyone coming in, they started. First announcements, then doing the crowd cheers.
Our cheer was WELCOME TO JERSEY BABY!! (You know how you always see a group of people shout something liek that on the show?)
A little while later...one of the producers, who was doing most of the announcements during the show, announced that there were two surprise people here. One, most people were not surprised to see (let's see if you can figure out who?) Think of someone, not a judge, who has been with the show since the beginning and always been a fan favorite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPXkDKbg4lU this is a video of his entrance, you can't see him clearly, because my phone doesnt zoom while taking video sorry for the crap quality
The other guest was the one...the only...born and raised in Jersey, former contestant CONSTANTINE MAROULIS!!!!! He sang two songs, Bohemian Rhapsody and Living On A Prayer, the whole audience were singing along with him, here's a video of him singing Living on a Prayer (also our city song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_7Ew3zc3lY
After all of that excitement, Seacrest then did all the camera shots with, the This is American Idol and all that jazz. Then had to leave Because he had to go into the winner's circle where he was doing a live radio show, interviewing people who made it past the first round
Ok...almost done, lol
About 2 hours into the auditions, my group moves down. We are separated into groups of four and sent off to a producer's table, where we are asked to sing for 15-45 seconds. I sang Take Me or Leave me from Rent
The judge let me for MORE THAN A MINUTE!!!!!!! So I felt all excited, it must mean that the judge liked me, right?
The others sing, he then asks us to come up to the table together.
He said that we all chose the right songs for our style and voice, but this year they upped the bar, because it's the 10th season, and we weren't quite up to par
So I didn't make it in, but I had the absolute time of my life, and do not regret it for one second! My favorite parts were seeing Seacrest and Constantine, as well as having the opportunity to audition at all.

American idol auditions
As some of you know, I'm going out for american idol this year. Today was registration day. Woke up 130 am, and left by 3 am.
When I got there at 4am the line was already pretty decent, but my friend and I still got a decnt spot in line, in the fifth or sixth group. Each group had somewhere between 200 and 500 people in it.
Staff and cameras came around 5:30-6am. I got into. A couple of group shots, and I noticed the camera guy at one point directly zoom the camera very close to my face, giving me a closeup! It was also funnywhen he zooomed in on the people fast asleep on line.
Sitting in line was exhausting, yet fun. People brought guitars with them, so everyone was singing, and they had bagels and
coffee available to buy when people woke up
The line started moving around 7am, I got in around 8.I then was handed a wristband, and ticket with my seat number.
I cannot wait until Tuesday. From what I've heard, there are numerous rounds before you can even go to the main judges, so I don't know what to expect.
